Wes-Del overwhelms Blackhawk Christian 32-7

Warriors force four turnovers and remain unbeaten with road victory

Wes-Del forced four turnovers and accumulated 399 yards of offense in a 32-7 victory over Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Friday night in an Indiana high school football non-conference game.

Wes-Del (3-0) controlled the game on the ground, rushing 47 times for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Rhyker Mauck led the attack with 117 yards on 21 carries. Haiden Hassett added 61 yards and a touchdown on six attempts. He also recorded 91 return yards and finished with a team-high 152 all-purpose yards.  Zach Gillam rushed seven times for 56 yards and a score.

Wes-Del’s quarterbacks combined to complete eight of nine passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Noah Perdue completed seven of eight attempts for 81 yards and a score, while Jaxon Drumm connected on a 45-yard touchdown pass on his only attempt.

Ryan Hyre caught three passes for 83 yards and both touchdowns. His longest reception covered 45 yards.

The Warriors’ defense intercepted three passes, recovered a fumble and held Blackhawk Christian to 87 total yards. Kolby New returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown, while Perdue added a 39-yard interception return. Hyre also recorded an interception.

Freshman Jack Fields led the defensive front with four tackles for loss and two sacks. Wright added a sack, and Ranen Dubois forced two fumbles.
