Warren Central beats Carmel 42–28, stays unbeaten
Thomas rushes for three touchdowns; Dennison throws for three more

INDIANAPOLIS — Warren Central combined a 200-yard rushing performance from Keyon Thomas with three Anthony Dennison touchdown passes to defeat Carmel 42–28 Friday, Oct. 9.
The Warriors improved to 8–0, while the visiting Greyhounds dropped to 4–4.
Thomas opened the scoring with an 8-yard run. Carmel answered with Ayden Johnson’s 1-yard touchdown, but Sean Fox blocked the extra point, preserving Warren Central’s 7–6 lead.
Carmel moved ahead in the second quarter. Chris Harris replaced injured quarterback Jackson Treadway, connected with Alim Broadnax for a 5-yard touchdown and added the two-point conversion.
Warren Central responded before halftime. Zechariah Wallace’s 14-yard touchdown catch tied the game, and Thomas scored from a yard out with 19 seconds remaining for a 21–14 lead.
The Warriors stretched the margin on their first second-half possession with Keysean Williams-Jarrett’s 30-yard touchdown reception. Harris then found Broadnax for a 28-yard score, bringing Carmel within seven.
Wallace supplied a pivotal answer: a 27-yard touchdown catch on fourth-and-21 late in the third quarter. Thomas added a 37-yard scoring run in the fourth before Carmel scored in the final minute.
The victory secured Warren Central’s first Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championship since 2019.
Thomas gained 217 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries, an average of 7.8 yards per attempt. His production helped the Warriors finish with 453 yards of total offense.
Dennison completed 16 of 26 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception.
Wallace caught five passes for 79 yards and two scores. Williams-Jarrett added five receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown, while Mark Chapman III contributed three catches for 55 yards.
With Thomas carrying the running game and three receivers gaining at least 55 yards, Warren Central had the offensive balance to overcome Carmel’s second-quarter lead and answer its third-quarter challenge.
