Wilkins, Kemper lift Triton Central past Beech Grove, 14-7

FAIRLAND — Matthew Wilkins threw two touchdown passes and Henry Kemper caught seven passes for 137 yards as Triton Central handed Beech Grove its first loss, 14-7, in an Indiana high school football game.

After a scoreless opening quarter, the Tigers scored seven second-quarter points to take a 7-0 halftime lead. Neither team scored in the third, and each added seven points in the fourth.

Triton Central improved to 2-2, while Beech Grove fell to 3-1.

Wilkins completed 13 of 27 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Kemper caught one scoring pass and averaged 19.6 yards per reception, with a long gain of 30 yards.

Landon Ball scored on his only reception, a 25-yard catch. Dylan Showalter added four receptions for 42 yards. Triton Central’s defense held Beech Grove scoreless through three quarters, helping the Tigers secure the seven-point victory.
