Sorgi powers Tri West offense with four touchdowns

Senior quarterback throws for 220 yards and adds 77 yards on the ground

Jack Sorgi delivered a strong all-around performance for Tri-West, accounting for four touchdowns while leading an offense that produced 356 yards through the air and on the ground as the Bruins beat Monrovia 41 – 23.

The senior quarterback completed 13 of 19 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 16.9 yards per completion, recorded a quarterback rating of 125.0 and connected on a game-long 53-yard pass. Sorgi also carried the ball 10 times for a team-high 77 yards and a touchdown.

Tri-West finished with 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries.

Wanson Hall contributed on the ground and through the air. The senior rushed 11 times for 34 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for 38 yards and another score.

Sorgi distributed the ball throughout the receiving corps. Quentin Alexander produced two receptions for a team-high 54 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown. Carter Cummings caught three passes for 49 yards, and Gage Bundy added three receptions for 36 yards.

Jax Garver made his lone catch count, turning it into a 20-yard touchdown. Hall completed the trio of touchdown receptions with his scoring catch.
