Roncalli controls Franklin Central for 21-7 victory
Royals lean on Jarvis, defense to earn first win
INDIANAPOLIS — Roncalli built a 14-point halftime lead and shut out Franklin Central in the second half to earn a 21-7 Indiana high school football nonconference victory Friday night.
The Royals scored eight points in the opening quarter and added six in the second. Franklin Central answered with its only touchdown before halftime, sending Roncalli into the break with a 14-7 advantage.
Roncalli (1-1) added another touchdown in the third quarter before both defenses kept the scoreboard unchanged in the fourth.
Alex Jarvis powered the Royals’ offense with 192 rushing yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. Quarterback Kallen Stahley completed 5 of 7 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. He threw one interception. Mikey Dillon led Roncalli’s receivers with three catches for 50 yards.
Franklin Central quarterback Caiden Marsden completed 10 of 22 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown without an interception. Dennis Mitchell Jr. caught three passes for 74 yards, while Rian Frazier led the Flashes’ rushing attack with 20 yards on eight carries.
