Barker, Rigney lead Frankton offense in 42-13 loss to Oak Hill

CONVERSE — Ace Barker caught three passes for 91 yards and a touchdown, and Ethan Rigney added a rushing score, but Frankton fell to Oak Hill 42-13 in a conference football game Friday.

The Eagles trailed 14-0 after the first quarter and 21-6 at halftime. Oak Hill scored 21 unanswered third-quarter points to put the game out of reach before Frankton added seven points in the fourth.

Frankton fell to 0-4, while Oak Hill earned its first victory to improve to 1-3.

Sophomore quarterback Rowan Branham completed 11 of 23 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. He added 24 rushing yards as the Eagles finished with 296 yards of total offense.

Barker averaged 30.3 yards per reception, with a long gain of 52 yards. Tyje Scott led Frankton with four catches for 43 yards, while Trey Bennett added three receptions for 41 yards.

Rigney paced the ground attack with 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, including a 52-yard gain. Frankton rushed for 110 yards on 26 attempts.

Eli Wachs led the Eagles’ defense with 12 tackles, including nine solo stops, and forced a fumble. Rigney, Levi McClintock and Kendall Harvey each recorded eight tackles, while Colton Cauble added seven. McClintock and Harvey each had a tackle for loss. Frankton recovered three fumbles, with Barker, Tracy Wells and Finnigan Cress collecting one apiece.
