Lawrence North overwhelms Fishers in 48-0 shutout

FISHERS — Lawrence North seized control almost immediately Friday night, scoring four first-quarter touchdowns on its way to a commanding 48-0 victory over Fishers.

The Wildcats (1-1) combined a balanced offense with a suffocating defensive performance, piling up 464 total yards while holding the Tigers scoreless. Lawrence North rushed for 302 yards and added 162 through the air.

Quarterback Darian Prather opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Amari Moore. Izayveon Moore then broke loose for a 72-yard touchdown run, giving the Wildcats a 13-0 advantage after the extra-point attempt failed.

Lawrence North’s defense soon joined the scoring. Davion Jones returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown, and Cameron Knox’s extra point extended the lead to 20-0.

Prather capped the first-quarter outburst with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Puntillo. Knox converted the extra point, sending Lawrence North into the second quarter with a 27-0 lead. Prather completed 14 of 21 passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 51 yards.

The Wildcats continued to pull away before halftime when Prather connected with Amari Moore for a 27-yard touchdown. Lawrence North led 34-0 at the break.

Izayveon Moore added his second touchdown on a 5-yard run in the third quarter. He led the Wildcats’ productive ground game with 162 yards on 11 carries.

Backup quarterback Jackson Nowling completed the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Puntillo in the fourth quarter. Knox made six of Lawrence North’s seven extra-point attempts. Nowling completed his only pass for a touchdown. Marreon Baker contributed 79 yards on eight carries.  Davion Dean hauled in three catches for 52 yards.  Anthony Whitfield was a force defensively with 13 tackles.
