Lockhart, Miller lead unbeaten Lapel past Centerville, 40-10

CENTERVILLE — Max Lockhart threw three touchdown passes and Jack Miller rushed for three scores as Lapel defeated Centerville 40-10 in an Indiana high school football matchup to remain unbeaten.
Lapel scored 13 first-quarter points and added 27 in the second to build a 40-0 halftime lead. Centerville scored all 10 of its points after halftime.
Lapel improved to 4-0, while Centerville fell to 1-3.
Lockhart completed 12 of 15 passes for 264 yards, leading an offense that finished with 434 total yards. Miller carried 12 times for 121 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per attempt and accounting for all three of Lapel’s rushing touchdowns.
Liam Ko led the receivers with five catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Reed Hamilton turned his only reception into an 84-yard touchdown, while Griffen Stow added three catches for 47 yards. Jaxson Cripe contributed three receptions for 38 yards, and Carter Scott caught a 30-yard pass.
Canaan Nickelson paced the defense with seven tackles. Mason Kenemer, Kase O’Connor, Keaton Hartley and Ben Peterson each recorded five. Peterson and Will Gilbert each contributed 1½ tackles for loss.
Miller also recovered a fumble, while Gilbert forced one. Lapel held Centerville scoreless through the first half as its offense established the decisive lead.
