Roncalli used a strong second-half surge to defeat Northview 58–40 in Indiana high school girls basketball 3A semi-state at Southport. After leading just 20–16 at halftime, the Lady Royals broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Northview 20–13 to build a double-digit cushion they would not surrender.
Roncalli shot an efficient 46 percent from the field (19-of-41) and did significant damage from the free-throw line, converting 14-of-19 attempts (74 percent). The Royals also knocked down six three-pointers to stretch the floor and keep Northview’s defense on its heels. Defensively, Roncalli forced 15 assists-to-turnover pressure situations and recorded seven steals and five blocks as a team, disrupting Northview’s rhythm throughout the second half. Northview hung tough early, trailing just 11–6 after the first quarter and 20–16 at the break. However, Roncalli’s depth and shooting efficiency proved decisive as the Royals steadily widened the margin in the final two quarters.
Elliot Leffler led Roncalli with 16 points, attacking the paint and finishing 6-of-12 from the field. She added seven rebounds and three blocked shots in a strong two-way performance. Catie Rosko contributed 16 points as well, connecting on 3-of-5 from three-point range and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Rosko’s perimeter shooting provided key momentum during Roncalli’s decisive third-quarter run.
Brennah Cerny added 11 points, shooting 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, while Lydia Stahley chipped in five points and pulled down seven rebounds. The Royals controlled the glass overall, outrebounding Northview 23–19 defensively and limiting second-chance opportunities.
