Lawrence North rolled to a convincing 74 – 44 victory over Hammond Central in non-conference Indiana high school girls basketball action at Hammond Central High School. The Wildcats’ balanced scoring and pressure defense propelled them to their third straight win and injected life into their early season campaign.
From the opening tip, Lawrence North (9-7) set the tone with crisp execution on both ends of the court. The Wildcats jumped out early with a 17-14 first quarter edge and maintained control throughout, closing the half up 31-22 before outscoring Hammond Central 26-12 in the fourth to seal the outcome.
Jordyn Suggs led the Wildcats with a standout performance, pouring in 22 points on efficient scoring and contributing across the stat sheet in 27 minutes of action. Sophomore Zo’e Peyton added a strong 15 points, while senior Kalea Bentley chipped in 12 and freshman Heavynne Beard finished with 10 points in support of the balanced attack.
