The Guerin Catholic Lady Golden Eagles pulled out a 46-41 victory over the Christian Academy Warriors in a closely contested girls high school basketball matchup at a neutral site. The win improves Guerin Catholic’s record to 10-6, while Christian Academy falls to 5-5 on the young season.
In a game dominated by defensive intensity and turnovers, Guerin led early and managed to hang on despite a late surge from the Warriors. After a sluggish first quarter that saw the Golden Eagles trail 10-6, Guerin Catholic responded with a timely 15-9 second quarter to take a 21-19 lead at halftime.
The second half remained tight, with both teams trading baskets and defensive stands. In the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles pulled away just enough, outscoring Christian Academy 17-12 in the period to secure the one-possession win.
Offensively, Caroline Ford led Guerin Catholic with a double-double of 15 points while hauling down 11 rebounds. and Lauren Keller added 11 points on efficient shooting. Freshman Cecilia Titus also chipped in with 12 points and six boards, helping the Golden Eagles maintain momentum when it mattered most. Guerin Catholic finished the game with a total of 27 rebounds and 7 assists, showcasing a team effort on both ends of the court.
