The Alexandria Tigers girls basketball team improved to 7-3 with a 59-27 win over county rival Frankton (3-7). With the win, Alexandria also improves to 2-0 in Central Indiana Conference play (Frankton 0-1). After a physical, defensive first quarter that ended with Alexandria leading 14-10, the Tigers outscored the Eagles 45-17 through the final 3 quarters. The Alexandria full court press was too much to handle for Frankton with only three Eagles scoring, Macy Curtis leading the team with 16 points. For Alexandria, Laela Dietzer had a career high 21 points along with 2 three pointers. Grace Wood added 11 points, and Conleigh Davidson finished with 9 points. Alexandria has now won the last 6 meetings against Frankton. The Tigers are back in action against Taylor on Saturday. For Frankton, they’ll try to get back in the win column against Daleville on Wednesday.
