Lewis rushes for 212 yards as Carmel rolls past North Central

Greyhounds gain 315 yards on the ground in 65-31 victory

INDIANAPOLIS — Mychael Lewis rushed for 212 yards as Carmel defeated host North Central 65-31 in an Indiana high school football matchup.

The Greyhounds improved to 3-3, while North Central fell to 1-5.

Lewis carried 26 times and averaged 8.2 yards per attempt, leading a Carmel rushing attack that produced 315 yards. Ayden Johnson added 49 yards on 11 carries, while Chris Harris gained 20 yards on three attempts.

Jackson Treadway completed 10 of 13 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown. Harris led the Greyhounds’ receivers with two catches for 78 yards, including a 75-yard reception. Ryan Wilson added a 29-yard catch, and Aidan Carpenter caught two passes for 21 yards.

North Central quarterback Chase Grove completed 23 of 29 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Jawon Waddell caught five passes for 49 yards and both scoring throws.

Tuajohn Averitte led the Panthers’ ground game with 86 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Brenton Phillips added 84 yards on four attempts, while Grove rushed for 49 yards.

Demetrius Averitte provided a special-teams touchdown on a 96-yard kickoff return and finished with 110 yards on three returns. Jeremiah Gillespie led North Central’s receivers with 51 yards on two catches.

Cash Daniels led Carmel’s posted defensive statistics with 10 solo tackles, including one for loss. Drake Coellner and Sean Garvey each recorded eight tackles, with Coellner contributing two tackles for loss.
