Greenwood Christian delivered a strong road performance Tuesday night, topping Speedway 67-55 in Indiana high school non-conference boys basketball action at Speedway High School. The win moves Greenwood Christian’s season record to 3-7, while Speedway falls to 3-5 on the year.

Greenwood Christian drew first blood, using a balanced attack to build a 21-15 lead after the opening quarter. The Cougars maintained momentum through the first half and extended their advantage to 34-31 by halftime. Greenwood Christian opened the third quarter with continued pressure and outscored Speedway 19-11 to take control heading into the final period. Despite a late surge from the Sparkplugs, the Cougars held firm to secure the 12-point victory.

The Cougars posted scoring in every quarter, capped by a 16-point fourth quarter that put the game out of reach. Greenwood Christian’s team effort stifled the Sparkplugs’ offense and forced miscues that turned into transition opportunities.

For Speedway, senior Drew Matelic led the home team with 24 points, six rebounds and six assists, shooting 9-16 from the field and pacing a determined Sparkplugs effort. Senior Kendrick Kiser added 9 points while contributing on the boards and in playmaking.
