Crispus Attucks Pulls Away from Purdue Poly in 88–65 Victory
Indianapolis Crispus Attucks turned a competitive first half into a decisive win, defeating Purdue Polytechnic 88–65 in a non-conference Indiana high school boys basketball matchup.
After leading 15–10 at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers seized control in the second and never looked back. Attucks outscored Purdue Poly 25–22 in the second quarter to take a 40–32 halftime lead, then delivered the knockout blow in the third, pouring in 26 points while limiting Purdue Poly to just 10. The Tigers carried a commanding 66–42 advantage into the final quarter before closing out the 23-point win.
Attucks shot an efficient 34-of-61 (56 percent) from the field and dominated the glass, outrebounding Purdue Poly 37–18. The Tigers also shared the ball effectively, recording 13 assists, and created seven steals to fuel transition opportunities. Purdue Poly stayed within striking distance in the first half but struggled defensively during Attucks’ explosive third quarter. The Tigers’ combination of rebounding dominance and high-percentage shooting proved too much to overcome.
Dezhon Hall led the balanced attack with 32 points, shooting 13-of-21 from the field. Hall was nearly automatic inside the arc and consistently finished through contact to keep the Tigers in rhythm. Blessed Thomas added 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Markale Gray chipped in 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Corde Hill pullied down 10 rebounds. Jamier Davis contributed 10 points, and the Tigers’ depth showed as nine players scored in the contest.
