The 3A Shortridge Blue Devils put up a good fight but fell short to the 4A Perry Meridian Falcons 84-73. Junior Elijah Wilson had a standout game for the Blue Devils knocking down four 3-pointers as a part of his 25 total points with 3 assists. Freshman Jordan Yates chipped in big for Shortridge with a 16 point, 10 rebound double-double with a pair of steals and blocks on the defensive end. Julian DeFrantz put up impressive facilitating numbers with just 9 points scored and 8 assists. As a team, the Blue Devils shot 51 percent from the floor and coughed up the ball 13 times. 

4A Perry Meridian rises to 1-1 to start the year, 3A Shortridge falls to 0-1.
