INDIANAPOLIS — Arsenal Technical rallied in the second half and held off Shortridge for a 22-19 victory in a tightly contested non-conference football matchup Friday night.
After trading blows early, Arsenal Tech used a balanced offensive effort and a strong defensive finish to secure the win.
Quarterback Tremeal Lowery led the Titans through the air, completing 5 of 14 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. His biggest plays came in the passing game, connecting with Najee Johnson for a 67-yard touchdown and Davion Jackson for a 37-yard score, both key moments that swung momentum in Tech’s favor.
Arsenal Tech’s ground game complemented the passing attack, with Quentin Thomas carrying the load with 14 rushes for 41 yards, while Anquan Broner provided a spark with 50 yards on just four carries, including a long run that set up a scoring opportunity.
Defensively, the Titans were anchored by Ke’veon Hayes, who delivered a standout performance with 14 total tackles, consistently disrupting Shortridge drives and helping preserve the narrow lead late.
Crispus Attucks kept the pressure on throughout the night behind quarterback Terrill Stallworth, who completed 7 of 13 passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Stallworth also contributed on the ground, rushing nine times for 34 yards and two scores, accounting for much of the Tigers’ offensive production.
Running back Thomas Campbell added 57 yards on 11 carries, while the receiving corps was led by Nic Jordan (4 receptions, 33 yards) and Deshean Davis (2 catches, 29 yards), helping sustain drives and keep the game within reach.
Despite trailing entering the fourth quarter, Crispus Attucks mounted a late push, but Arsenal Tech’s defense held firm, limiting opportunities and sealing the three-point victory.
Arsenal Tech finished with 115 rushing yards and 138 passing yards, while Crispus Attucks totaled 103 yards on the ground and 83 through the air.
