Tri-West scores in all three phases, routs Speedway 56-7

Hall rushes for two touchdowns as Bruins collect four takeaways

SPEEDWAY — Tri-West scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams to overwhelm host Speedway 56-7 in an Indiana high school football matchup.

Wanson Hall rushed for two touchdowns, while Braxton Fleece scored on a rushing attempt and a kickoff return as the Bruins improved to 4-2 with the Hoosier Legends Conference victory. Speedway fell to 3-3.

Hall led Tri-West’s ground attack with 87 yards on eight carries, averaging 10.9 yards per attempt. His longest run covered 41 yards. Fleece added 32 yards on four carries, and Landon Lowry contributed a rushing touchdown.

The Bruins finished with 169 rushing yards on 22 attempts, averaging 7.7 yards per carry.

Tri-West’s defense supplied two touchdowns and four takeaways. Aden Schenck intercepted two passes, returning them a combined 85 yards and taking one back for a score. John Sandlin returned his interception 40 yards for another touchdown, while Ryan Woodrum forced and recovered a fumble.

Jack Sorgi completed nine of 12 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown and added 41 rushing yards on six carries. Lowry completed a 28-yard pass to Jaden McClain, helping the Bruins finish with 263 yards of total offense.

Carter Cummings caught two passes for 21 yards, while Fleece added two receptions for 17 yards and Gage Bundy had two catches for 15 yards.

Layton Quinlan, Nicholas Bearman and Abe Haste led Tri-West’s defense with six tackles apiece. Bearman recorded two tackles for loss.

The Bruins also registered four sacks, with Quinlan, Michael Wildman, Zakir Faiz and Arlo Stewart each collecting one. Those sacks accounted for 39 yards in losses as Tri-West limited Speedway to seven points.
