Zay Moore powers Lawrence North past Carmel, 28-21

Lawrence North erupted for three second-quarter touchdowns and held off a second-half rally by Carmel for a 28-21 MIC victory in Indiana high school football.
The Wildcats rolled up 470 yards of total offense. Zay Moore led the ground attack with 184 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. Quarterback Darian Prather added 99 rushing yards and a touchdown while completing 7 of 13 passes for 178 yards and another score.
After a scoreless opening quarter, LN took control in the second. Prather scored on a 22-yard run, Moore broke loose for a 67-yard TD, and Prather connected with Jay Cross on a 93-yard scoring pass building a 21-0 halftime lead. Carmel cut the deficit to 21-7 in the third quarter and added 14 points in the fourth. LN’s lone second-half touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Zay Moore in the final period.
The Wildcats finished with 292 yards rushing and 178 passing. Moore also caught three passes for 45 yards, bringing his total offensive production to 229 yards.
Anthony Whitfield paced the Wildcats defense with 12 tackle and a fumble recovery. Damirre Turner recorded 10 tackles in the win.
