Wes-Del rolls past Southern Wells, 50-0, to remain unbeaten

GASTON — Rhyker Mauck rushed for two touchdowns and Wes-Del held Southern Wells to just 53 total yards as the Warriors cruised to a 50-0 victory in a nonconference Indiana high school football game.
Wes-Del scored 28 first-quarter points and built a 42-0 halftime lead triggering a third quarter running clock before adding eight points in the fourth. The Warriors improved to 4-0, while Southern Wells fell to 1-3.
Mauck carried 11 times for 53 yards to help lead a rushing attack that produced 241 yards and six touchdowns. Haiden Hassett led Wes-Del with 65 yards on eight carries, while Zach Gillam added 55 yards and a touchdown on two attempts.
Eli Wright rushed for 30 yards and a score on four carries. Colton Stanley contributed 17 yards and a touchdown, and Noah Perdue added a rushing score.
Perdue completed both of his passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Hyre caught two passes for 100 yards, including a 68-yard scoring reception.
Wright led Wes-Del’s defense with six tackles, including five for loss and a sack. He also forced and recovered a fumble. The Warriors finished with 13 tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries. Fields and Carter Gregory joined Wright in recovering fumbles.
