Tokar, Crumes lead Yorktown past Delta, 37-13

Yorktown, Indiana – Sam Tokar threw two touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores as Yorktown pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Delta 37-13 in an Indiana high school football game.

Kaden Crumes caught nine passes for 157 yards and a touchdown, added a rushing score and intercepted a pass for the Tigers, who scored the game’s final 21 points.

Delta led 7-0 after the first quarter before Crumes scored on a 2-yard run and Drake Ford added the tying extra point. Ford’s 42-yard field goal gave Yorktown a 10-7 halftime lead.

Tokar connected with Seth Clark for a 5-yard touchdown in the third quarter to extend the advantage to 16-7. Delta answered with a 7-yard touchdown run in the fourth to close within 16-13.

Yorktown took control from there. Tokar scored on a 6-yard run, found Crumes for an 18-yard touchdown pass and capped the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run. Ford added an extra point after each score.

Tokar completed 14 of 18 passes for 206 yards without an interception. Diezel Walker led Yorktown’s rushing attack with 94 yards on 14 carries. Yorktown finished with 319 yards of total offense and 21 first downs.

Delta produced 247 yards, including 132 rushing and 115 passing, and recorded 16 first downs.

Crumes and Luzadder each intercepted a pass as Yorktown collected three takeaways.
