Lewis rushes for 211 yards as Carmel defeats Pike, 37-14

CARMEL — Mychael Lewis rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns as Carmel defeated Pike 37-14 in an Indiana high school football game.

The Greyhounds led 23-14 after a high-scoring first quarter, then held the Red Devils scoreless the rest of the way. Carmel added 14 third-quarter points to secure the victory and improve to 2-2. Pike fell to 0-4.

Lewis carried 29 times with a long run of 53 yards. The Pike transfer led a Carmel rushing attack that produced 313 yards and three touchdowns on 56 carries. Gavin Jones added 59 yards on 14 attempts, while Chris Harris rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Carson Clark contributed two receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown.

Carmel’s defense supplied points and takeaways. Drew Jones scored on a fumble recovery, while Aikum Shergill recorded a safety. Drake Coellner and Cash Daniels each intercepted a pass. Coellner and Aiden Dickerson led the Greyhounds with 10 tackles apiece. Sean Garvey added nine, and Evan Bardwell finished with eight. Deegan Thomas recorded seven tackles, including three for loss and a sack. Shergill added two tackles for loss as Carmel finished with 11.
