Westerfeld, Mallory lead Western Boone past Greencastle, 49-28

GREENCASTLE — Quinn Westerfeld threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another score, while Jack Mallory ran for 172 yards as Western Boone defeated Greencastle 49-28 in an Indiana high school football game.
The Stars built a 14-6 first-quarter lead and extended their advantage to 27-6 by halftime. Western Boone outscored Greencastle 15-7 in the third quarter to take a 42-13 lead into the final period.
Western Boone improved to 2-2, while Greencastle fell to 1-3.
Mallory carried 22 times, averaging 7.8 yards per attempt, to lead a rushing attack that produced 382 yards. The Stars finished with 494 yards of total offense. Westerfeld completed six of eight passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Beau Sawyer caught four passes for 48 yards and two scores, while Nathan Thompson added two receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown. Carson Nicley rushed for 34 yards and two touchdowns on four carries. Westerfeld added 12 yards and a rushing score on three attempts. Rolen Shue contributed 51 yards on 10 carries, Tyson Riner gained 50 yards on his only attempt, and Thompson added 45 yards on three carries.
