Sheridan shuts out Tri-Central 50-0
Alexander scores three touchdowns as Blackhawks dominate conference matchup

Hayden Alexander scored three touchdowns and Sheridan’s defense forced three turnovers as the Blackhawks defeated Tri-Central 50-0 Friday night in an Indiana high school football game earning its first victory of the season.
Alexander rushed six times for a team-high 42 yards and two touchdowns. The senior also returned a punt 42 yards for another score, finishing with 84 all-purpose yards.
Brody Heck reached the end zone twice. He caught a 36-yard touchdown pass and scored on a punt return while producing a team-high 174 all-purpose yards. Heck rushed for 29 yards, added 36 receiving yards and totaled 109 yards on kickoff and punt returns.
Sheridan finished with 278 yards of offense, including 160 rushing and 118 passing. The Blackhawks averaged 7.6 yards per rushing attempt and completed five of six passes.
Brock Hagan completed three of four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. Liam Gould connected with Maddox Teague for a 48-yard score, the team’s longest offensive play. Teague finished with 61 total yards and a touchdown. Wyatt Stowers added 34 rushing yards and a score on five carries.
The Sheridan defense recorded 12 tackles for loss, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a safety. Waylyn Grinstead led the unit with eight tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack. Logan Baitz and Braxton Schwerdtfeger each intercepted a pass, while Cesar Cuautle recovered a fumble. Levi Gellert was credited with the safety.
