Plainfield defeats Mooresville 27-14

Sebanc accounts for three touchdowns as Quakers win conference matchup

Bryce Sebanc threw two touchdown passes and added another score on the ground as Plainfield defeated Mooresville 27-14 Friday night in an Indiana high school football Mid State conference game.

The victory improved the Quakers to 2-1 and handed the Pioneers their first loss of the season, dropping them to 2-1.

Sebanc completed 11 of 19 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The senior quarterback also rushed six times for 57 yards and a score, finishing with 177 total yards.

Zander Nattam led Plainfield’s receiving corps with six catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Devin D’Amato added two receptions for 30 yards and a score, while Gaeton Groninger caught one pass for nine yards. Justin Meyer powered the rushing attack with 84 yards on 10 carries. Plainfield finished with 154 rushing yards and 274 yards of total offense. Meyer also recorded 2½ sacks and two tackles for loss.

The Quakers’ defense made its presence felt with five sacks and five tackles for loss. Jack Nagy led the unit with 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.

Coen Vanderbush and Jack Spencer combined for 1½ sacks, while Ty White and Spencer each forced a fumble.

Mooresville accumulated 324 total yards, including 207 on the ground, but the Pioneers were held to two touchdowns.

Hunter Untersinger led Mooresville with 113 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Quarterback Elijah Hill completed 13 of 30 passes for 117 yards and a score while adding 55 rushing yards. Cooper Jones caught six passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
