Mooresville dominates early, rolls past Terre Haute North 42-12
Pioneers build 35-point halftime lead, improve to 2-0
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Mooresville scored five first-half touchdowns and shut out Terre Haute North through three quarters in a 42-12 Indiana high school football nonconference victory.
The Pioneers (2-0) led 14-0 after the opening quarter and erupted for 21 points in the second. Another touchdown in the third extended the advantage to 42-0 triggering a running clock before the Patriots (0-2) scored twice in the final period.
Mooresville finished with 376 yards of total offense, averaging more than 10 yards per play. The Pioneers passed for 208 yards and added 168 on the ground.
Junior quarterback Elijah Hill completed 7 of 8 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 72 yards and another score. Hill connected with Elijah Thompson, Cooper Jones and on a 24-yarder to Keagan Burch. Thompson caught three passes for 83 yards including a 54-yard reception. Jones added two receptions for 56 yards. Hunter Untersinger led the rushing attack with 80 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Nathan Mayes-West also scored on the ground.
