University Advances Past Covenant Christian in Sectional Semi-Final
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — University used a strong second half and steady free-throw shooting to defeat Covenant Christian 66–55 Friday night in the IHSAA sectional semifinal, advancing to the championship round of the Cardinal Ritter sectional.
The Trailblazers gradually pulled away after a competitive first half. University led 28–23 at halftime, then extended the margin with an 18-point third quarter and 20 more points in the fourth to secure the victory. University shot 19-of-46 (41%) from the field and did much of its damage at the free-throw line, converting 22-of-25 attempts (88%).
