Triton Central Advances with Win Over Heritage Christian in Sectional Semi-Final
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Ind. — Triton Central used balanced scoring and steady free-throw shooting to pull away from Heritage Christian Friday night, earning a 63–54 victory in the IHSAA sectional semifinal and advancing to the championship game.
The Tigers found their rhythm early and maintained control throughout much of the contest, shooting an efficient 18-of-27 from the field (67%) while knocking down 22 of 28 free throws (79%) to keep Heritage Christian from mounting a late comeback. Triton Central also held an edge on the glass, finishing with 16 total rebounds while adding 13 assists and three steals as a team. Heritage Christian battled throughout the night but struggled to slow Triton Central’s efficient offense, particularly at the free-throw line where the Tigers consistently capitalized on opportunities.
Eli Sego led Triton Central with 27 points, delivering a dominant performance that included 12-of-13 shooting from the free-throw line and several key baskets during pivotal stretches of the game. Brody Hartman added 12 points, connecting on a three-pointer and going 5-of-7 from the free-throw line while pulling down four rebounds. Henry Kemper chipped in 11 points and grabbed five rebounds, providing an important interior presence for Triton Central.
