Triton Central Pulls Away for 63–40 Win Behind Balanced Scoring

Triton Central’s girls basketball team put together a strong all-around performance, pulling away in the second half for a convincing 63–53 victory over Oldenburg Academy in Indiana high school girls basketball play.  After a competitive opening stretch, the Tigers (17 – 3) used depth, defensive pressure, and balanced scoring to steadily widen the gap, outscoring their opponent over the final two quarters to secure the double-digit win.

Quinn King and Maryrose Felling combined for 51 points.  Felling poured in a game-high 26 points including 20 in the second half while King netted 25.  Felling connected on eight field goals, including a 3-pointer, and was aggressive getting to the line, where she converted key free throws to keep the lead growing. King consistently attacked the defense and helped the Tigers maintain control whenever momentum started to shift.  The Lady Tigers finished with 18 made field goals, including five 3-pointers, and went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line in an efficient offensive showing.

While the scoring leaders carried much of the offensive load, Triton Central’s defense played a major role in the outcome. The Tigers limited second-chance opportunities and forced tough shots, especially in the second half, allowing them to turn stops into transition opportunities.
