Guerin Catholic picked up an impressive conference win in front of a sold-out crowd at Brebeuf Jesuit Friday night, 48-39. The Golden Eagles held a 13-12 lead at the end of one, but Brebeuf put together a solid second quarter to lead 26-17 at the half. Austin Ford led all scorers for the Braves with eight at halftime, and Brebeuf’s largest advantage was extended to 29-17 early in the second half. From there, Guerin stormed back for the win. Andrew Riethman found Carter Murans for a two-hand dunk early in the 4th quarter to give Guerin its first lead in almost 20 minutes of game time, 34-33. Junior leading-scorer Jake Grissom poured in 11 of his game-high 21 points in the 4th to cap the comeback. Brebeuf has another Circle City Conference matchup next Friday vs Bishop Chatard, while Guerin will continue its stretch of road games at Scecina. The Golden Eagles improved to 11-5 overall, and are now an impressive 6-0 on the road under first year head coach Sam Gardner.
